Aus naheliegenden Gründen (wer mich kennt, weiß, warum) ist die „Grüne Bibliothek“ derzeit für mich ein naheliegendes Thema. Und so liegt es nahe, heute einmal auf diesen kleinen Beitrag über die Zweigestelle in Beitou der Taipeh Public Library in Taiwan hinzuweisen. Zitat:

The Beitou Branch of Taipei Public Library, situated in Beitou Park, is surrounded by greenery dating back to the Japanese occupation period. It was Taiwan’s first certified green architectural project. Together with hot springs in the area, the library has turned into a tourist attraction. Beitou Library was named one of the 25 most beautiful public libraries in the world by the U.S.-based cultural news website Flavorwire in April. Unveiled in 2006, it’s Taiwan’s first certified green architecture project.The library’s large windows cut electricity use in two ways. An abundance of natural light means less interior lighting is needed. Also, these windows are designed to open on top and bottom for better ventilation. There are other eco designs on the porch which may go unnoticed.
